The long-term impacts of youth unemployment are extremely costly, not only the emotional and physical well-being of young people but for society as a whole. This is 12.5% of all British young people. More than 790,000 young people in the UK are NEET, a 23% rise over the last two years. ![]() I strongly recommend this program and would love to see it continue so that more people can benefit from it. The program has been a great source of encouragement and has helped me in many ways. I find this program to be very helpful for boosting my confidence and motivating me to grow and achieve my goals. All these beautiful things happened because of the opportunity that Head Start programs gave us. If she didn’t understand something they were happy to help, and she never felt alone or lost. She got more involved in my education and the staff worked side by side with her. My mother learned a lot by volunteering at Head Start, then she obtained her high school diploma, and found a job in the Department of Education of Puerto Rico as a cook. And our journey started there, I was a Head Start child and it gave me a big advantage in the education I was getting, I learned the essentials that I needed to move forward in life. She did the best she could to teach me, until she heard people talking about the Head Start programs, so she decided to see if we qualified, and we did. Head Start has changed my life in many ways!
